Freefall writing
“Writing without a parachute”… This is a method of writing that helps young people and adults alike to be able to express their thoughts after a discussion, workshop or session.
By asking them not to worry about spelling or grammar, and not read back on what they are writing, words can flow that are expressed in an honest and thoughtful way.
Global Generation use this method as a way of giving our young people a way to reflect on what they have learned or achieved. Often, a starting phrase is given – something simple such as ‘Today I learnt that…’ or ‘This topic is important because…’ and you will be surprised in what it can result in.
Freefall writing is a good method for personal journaling as well, a way of reflecting back on a day.
